Rainbow Fish IT Ltd - Privacy Policy
Introduction
We understand that you may have concerns about the way we store and use your personal information. This privacy policy gives details of the kind of information we collect, how it may be used, when and why it may be shared with others and how we try to keep the information secure.
Information Collected
There are two kinds of information collected on this website:
- Candidate results information - this information is effectively anonymous as candidates are only identified by a class name and a number. No personal information about the candidate is held by the website and the website cannot link a candidate number back to an individual candidate.
- Visit Leader (or Teacher) information - this may include personal information such as name, e-mail address and other contact details. The training organisation inputs these details and a user ID and password is generated for the visit leader.
Candidate Results Information
This information may be used in the following ways:
- It may be provided to visit leaders in varying levels of detail (including an individual candidate’s answers to questions, detail reports and summary reports). This information may be used to help Visit Leaders review the effectiveness of the training that has taken place and to identify stronger or weaker areas of understanding gained by the individuals or groups within their own organization. This process can help Visit Leaders to decide if further training or reinforcement is necessary for any topic or area. Visit Leaders will only be allowed to access information relating to candidates from within their own organization.
- It may be used by the training organisation, for example, to improve the effectiveness of training by altering content or by altering training resource allocation. Another use may involve reviewing the difficulty levels that have been estimated for questions forming part of the quiz. We may assist the training organization with these processes if requested.
- It may be provided in summary format to funding bodies or others by the training organisation in order to improve funding for training provision and help maximise the training opportunities available.
Visit Leader Information
This information (input by the training organisation) may be used and shared in several ways:
- To ensure that correct levels of access to services are granted and that site security is maintained.
- We will only share information with the training organisation that has already input the information and arranged for the quizzes on the website to be accessed.
- Rainbow Fish IT Ltd is registered as a data controller with the office of the Information Commissioner and complies with the Data Protection Act. Details of our registration can be found at http://www.dataprotection.co.uk. We also comply with the requirements of The Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003.
- We will not pass your personal information to any organisation outside Rainbow Fish IT Ltd for marketing or other purposes. In the unlikely event that there is a request from law enforcement agencies and government officials conducting criminal investigations in relation to fraud or any other illegal activities, we will comply with their request for information.
- We will only send you e-mail necessary for the correct operation of the quiz process. The training organisation that has input your data is required to have previously obtained your permission for us to send you such e-mail. Normally between 1 and 5 automatically generated e-mails will be sent (e.g. to inform you of your user id and password, or to remind you that a quiz is to be taken by your candidates). E-mail addresses will not be used to send unsolicited mail.
Protecting Information
Along with other measures we use passwords to protect the security of your personal information and the website. It is important that you keep passwords secure and do not share them with others. It is good practise to log out of the site when you have finished using our services, as an extra security precaution. This is particularly important if anyone else is allowed access to your computer terminal.
